Ephesians 6:19-20
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the
mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
This is Paul….
Who wrote 13 of the 27 books in the New Testament.
This Paul…
Who from the time he met Jesus on the road to Damascus, has preached the gospel to Jews and Gentiles and anyone else that would listen.
This is Paul…
Who preached the gospel to soldiers and jailers,
This is Paul…
Who preached the gospel to the entire Jewish High Council
This is Paul…
Who preached the gospel to Governor Felix the Roman appointed Governor of Judea.
This is Paul…
Who had King Agrippa of Judea asking him “are you trying to make me a Christian too?”
THAT Paul Is asking for boldness.
Why Paul? Boldness? You are one of the boldest people in the Bible. Of all the things Paul could ask the Ephesian church to pray for him, he asked for boldness? How about those chains you’re in Paul? Need prayer for that Paul? NO…pray for my boldness in preaching the gospel. Pray that I am fearless in declaring the gospel as I SHOULD. Maybe Paul realized boldness in relation to the gospel isn’t just about speaking to whomever when ever. Maybe Paul realized that making known the mystery of the gospel is not something he can do on his own. The ability he possessed to eloquently use his words and knowledge he had learned through his experiences weren’t enough.
Paul needed the Holy Spirit to empower his words for them to reveal the MYSTERY of the gospel to everyone he comes in contact with as he SHOULD. Paul knew something that I hope we all realize in these 21 days of fasting – we can’t bring a person to Christ on our own. For our words to reach to the soul of a person, we need the Holy Spirit to do a work on the inside that only He can do. Once the Holy Spirit is empowering your words there is no other way to declare the gospel but boldly and fearlessly.
Go boldly Commission Church and declare the gospel as we should!
Listen to Varghese as he shares about being a bold witness.
