When Jesus prayed, things happened. Lives were changed, people were healed and communities were restored. The Bible even says that a city that sat in darkness saw a great light come on it.
When He teaches His disciples to pray, He says, “… your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Jesus expresses in this opening a statement a desire for God’s kingdom to be dwell in the world around us. Along with praying for the healing and salvation of our communities, let us be urged to pray for racial reconciliation. Let us pray Galatians 3:28 over our communities; “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
A great place to start would be to connect and get to know at least 5 of your neighbors. You don’t have to preach the gospel to them, let your life be a walking Bible. Take a prayer walk around your neighborhood and pray over homes. Let us also particularly pray for the neighborhoods in a 5-mile radius from our church. Here are the names of a few neighborhood and communities around our church in the 75023 zipcode; Audubon Place, Country Place, Woodhaven, Ports o’Call, Stone Creek, Briarmeade, Parkview, Park Forest, Cross Bend, University Estates, Town Bluff Condos, Bunker, Timbercreek, Parker Road Estates, Hunters Glen Village, Parker Road Estates and Independence Village. I decided to keep this writeup short because Tom Kurz gave us a 30 minute talk on reaching out to our communities for Jesus.
Listen to Beena (our missions and community outreach director) as she shares her heart about praying for our communities.

If you missed the message on Sunday, Pastor Ashish spoke about the importance of praying first. I strongly suggest that you go listen to it as we begin this 21 day fasting and prayer. Let us resolve to always PRAY FIRST in everything we do. Listen to the message HERE
