“For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly
support those whose heart is completely His” 2 Chronicles 16:9
The Bible is clear when it says that God is constantly on the lookout for men and women whose hearts are His—completely. That means there are no locked closets, no passwords or firewalls that guard your heart from God.
In the middle of a 21 Day Fast I can’t stop thinking about food! That’s perfectly normal right? It’s probably because I am not praying as much but I promise you, I’m fighting off the temptation. Anyone that knows me well, knows that Biriyani (an Indian dish) is one way to my heart. My girls know that when they shower me with hugs and kisses, they get anything they ask for. They’ve learnt that’s one of many ways to my heart.
In the verse above, the phrase “those whose heart is completely His” refers to integrity (Hebrew- thamam). Integrity is the display of character when nobody’s looking. When we pray and seek God’s face, we connect our hearts with God’s heart. Prayer helps us to be authentic and raw in God’s presence. Prayer time is a vulnerable time where we allow ourselves to let all our inhibitions down and allow God to see us for who we are. Many of us are afraid to pray because we fear that God will see our true hearts. I’m sorry to burst your bubble but God sees your heart nonetheless.
