“For by your words you will be justified, and by your words thou will be condemned.” Matthew 12:37
In Matthew 12:33-37 Jesus is teaching about how a tree is known by its fruit. Referring to the power in our words, he says that it can either be your saving grace or your damnation.” The word “justified” is transliterated from the Greek word dikaiósis . It’s a legal term that means completely free and absolved of any offence. This word is often used by Paul to describe Christ’s salvation but Jesus uses it to describe the power of our declarations.
Justified here means to show or declare someone innocent or to set one free from all accusations. Whereas, the word condemned (katadikazō) means to render judgement against someone or to pronounce guilty and sentenced to imprisonment.
Jesus is simply saying that it’s a choice we make every day whether to live under self-judgement and imprisonment or to live in freedom. You words are the key to living in the freedom that God has for you. Today I encourage you to declare God’s promises in the face of your fears. Not only do I declare God’s word over myself, I also do it over my two daughters. Every morning when I drive my daughter to school I declare over her, “You are a child of God and will be a blessing to your teachers and friends. You are beautifully created by God to be the head and not the tail, you are above and not beneath.”
I challenge you to consistently and continually declare and confess God’s word over your lives. Here is a phenomenal list of declarations that Craig Groeschel encourages you to use in prayer everyday – https://openblog.life.church/the-power-of-personal-declarations/

Oh man. Sorry I I my got to the Devo now but it was so good!
I did a gallery show in college focused on Ezekiel 37. It was a study of the body and life but I am realizing that – like we discussed at the meeting – our words and proclamation have power. It’s up to us to give power to life or to death. I want to choose life. For me and for everyone around me!
